Library Visits

Cindy Campbell-Stone worked for over 30 years in a public library as a Children’s Library Assistant and Teen Library Assistant so she knows what to expect in a library setting and understands the importance of literacy and oral literacy for readers.

While working in the public library, Cindy developed a program called Shake, Rattle and Read. This weekly program was offered to both the general public and preschool groups. This program highlighted oral storytelling, reading, music, songs and rhymes to encourage oral language development and pre-reading skills.

Cindy has performed for all ages at public libraries with such programs as, Reading Club Kickoff Parties, Reading Club Ending Parties, Rhythms, Rhymes and Telling Tales, Wild and Wacky Hullabaloo, Super Silly Us, Babies First Books, Tales For Twos, Preschool Storytime, Programs for Various Cultural Heritage Months and Puppet Shows.

Whatever the library event, Cindy can adapt to any theme, interest, time requirement, or special requests.

Cindy is also available for library conferences and professional development days.

Library Kudos

“Many thanks to “StorySong Express” for doing such a wonderful job at the Summer Reading Program Launch. It was “just right” and we have had many rave reviews! Bravo!”

Alderney Gate Library: A Whale of a Tale Reading Club Party with Cindy and Janice

“I have watched and learned from Cindy since we started working together at Halifax Public Libraries in 1992. Already an experienced and in-demand children’s programmer, Cindy graciously took me under her wing and educated me in the myriad of skills it takes to be a successful children’s programmer. Many of her fellow staff members were just as entranced as her audiences when she would spin a tale with simply her voice, her gestures, her facial expression, and her deft ability to know when to, when to invite her audiences to interact, and which exact story in her ample repertoire of memorized tales suited the theme or event he crowd at that moment. I have seen her make children laugh with gusto or grow quiet with anticipation.”
