Let’s Chat! \nPart of the SC-CC Creating Connections Series / Série Créer des liens de SC-CC Conversations Series / La Série Conversations \nWednesday\, October 14\n1:00PM pm EDT\nOnline \nClick here to register: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/6J572t-zSK67nbZdvOQxgA \nCet événement est offert en anglais uniquement. \nHosts Cindy Campbell-Stone and Christine Hennebury welcome you to Telling Spooky Stories\, a chat about the ins and outs of telling ghost stories and other creepy tales. \nHere are some of the things we’ll consider: \nWhy do you choose to tell scary stories?\nHow do you choose which ones to tell?\nHow do you judge when a story will be TOO scary for your audience?\nHow do you create a good atmosphere for your tales?\nWhat do you say if someone asks if your story is real?\nJoin the conversation to share your experience and expertise and maybe even pick up some new ideas. \nAbout your hosts: \nCindy Campbell-Stone \nCindy is a storyteller\, singer\, and performer from Nova Scotia with family roots in Prince Edward Island. She has been performing for over forty years. A long time member of the Helen Creighton Folklore Society\, Cindy has a special interest in the works of folklorist\, Dr. Creighton\, in particular\, her book: Bluenose Ghosts. Cindy’s busiest time of year is in October when she tells ghost stories and tales of the supernatural. She sometimes collaborates with museums and authors to provide the spookiest of settings for a good scare. She has also been known to add songs and ballads to her ghostly repertoire. \nCindy is the recipient of the national Storykeeper Award for her contributions to storytelling. \nChristine Hennebury \nChristine is a storyteller\, writer\, and creative life coach from Newfoundland and Labrador who has a knack for encouraging people to be kinder to themselves. She regularly tells stories for groups of all sizes\, she writes fiction and non-fiction and she has 30 years of experience in leading workshops to help individuals and groups ease their way into new creative practices. \nChristine is the founder of the Association for the Arts in Mount Pearl\, the immediate Past President of Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada\, and a past president of the St. John’s Storytelling Festival. She is also the proud recipient of the 2020 Impact in Music\, Arts\, and Culture Award from the City of Mount Pearl. \n  \n
